Medicinal Menudo
Oddly enough, eating stomach can actually help one's own stomach!
Menudo, a Mexican soup comprised primarily of chili spices, hominy, and tripe, is highly renowned within many Hispanic circles as an andidote and cure for those God-awful hangovers.
I personally swear by it, as it is one of the few foods I'm able to "stomach" during a hangover. It immediately relaxes my stomach and its high abundance of Vitamins A and C provide the rich nourishment I so desperately require.
Like all foods, homemade Menudo is usually best. Still, it can also be purchased from most of your favorite local Mexican restaurants. The smaller mom-and-pop type places usually do a great job.
If you are unable to find fresh Menudo then canned Menudo is still a very good option. Juanita's brand canned Menudo is actually quite good and can be found at just about any major super market.
My favorite toppings include plenty of lemon, cilantro, and chopped onions. Mexican oregano and powered red pepper are also good.
So, when planning for your next party or celebration, remember to stock up on plenty of that good old-fashioned Mexican stew, Menudo! You won't regret it! :-)
